As we come to the end of what has been an incredibly busy term, I would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our Meadows family – parents and carers, pupils and staff – for making me feel so welcome as I have settled into my new post. I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful and committed school community.
December has been very much focused on our preparations for the festive season, with a tremendous amount of effort going into our Christmas production. I am sure that you will all agree how wonderful it was to see Mrs Wright enjoying life on the other side of the stage as our guest of honour. A huge thank you to all classes for contributing but especially to Mrs Ball, who has worked tirelessly to ensure that things go smoothly on the day. This is a task not to be underestimated! I must also thank the staff who ensured that our stalls for the Christmas Fayre looked so beautiful. I do hope that you enjoyed perusing the stalls and spent plenty of money on the various merchandise made by the pupils.
We have had lots of class trips going out recently too, not least the huge undertaking of transporting almost the entire school to the Victoria Hall in Stoke, to see the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Panto! Huge thanks to Mrs Rushton for putting the trip together. Class BP and some of AB visited Newfriars College to see their production of ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Class MW visited Wood Farm in Alton, we have had trips out for lunch in Leek town centre, and several classes enjoyed the ‘Safe and Sound’ workshops held by the team at Leek Fire Station.
Finally, I know many of you will have met Bramble, our therapy dog, at the Tuesday show. The students have all loved getting to know him and are getting a great deal out of the interactions.
Please enjoy the photographs of our Christmas production taken by Riley, and some lovely pictures of this term. This is why we do what we do. I wish you all a very peaceful and restful Christmas and a happy 2025.
